I want to do a bit of walking next week but don't want to have to sleep in my bivvy. Unfortunately I can't afford a tent light enough for walking at the moment so I wondered if there were any companies that rent (this sort of) tent out?

Obviously I did search but could only find car camping tent rental. Ideally I'd want to be looking at renting something like a Terra Nova Laser...

I guess it's a pretty small market unfortunately.:p:(

Hertfordshire, if there was somewhere in the south west I could possibly pick one up from that sort of area as well if it's a physical shop/rental place.

No idea fella tbh, was asking because if you were local, Bury/Manchester I could have maybe lent you one to use. I love wild camping and have amassed quite a bit of good gear over the years...

at a pinch try a hammock and basha ? if your feeling brave this time of year :)

Good luck though and have a good time if you do go..

I'd love to try out a Hammock but I'm walking some coastal routes and there are next to no trees. :D The bit I find most disconcerting about my Bivvi (aside from not being able to regulate temperature properly) is I feel rather exposed and expect to wake up with someone peering at me!

Thanks for the links as well and Greebo my google fu must be weak, I even googled for rental of that tent. :( How do you know it's two weeks as well? I can't see it on the website anywhere... (I must be getting old and blind!) EDIT: Found it in the T&Cs!

Ed unfortunately cheap tents are big and heavy, I like to travel with a 35L pack and a cheap tent would add a large percentage to the weight I carry (and I'm not sure I would be able to attach one properly).

Yep, I normally try and get a space in a nice deserted cove, unfortunately it's not always possible!
