Do you give money to beggars and the like?

In this country, hell no, this country will house them an never let them starve so if they're homeless its obviously some sort of problem, whether it be drugs or alcohol.

Other countries, such as poor countries, sure, they don't get any help so might as well and with the exchange rates, a little from us, is a lot to them.

No. I give nothing to beggars and I never will.

Many of them are just opportunists that make a living from pretending to be beggars, some of them make a fortune.

The others are mostly just druggies that are there because they screwed their life up, no sympathy from me.

Nope, get it quite a lot working in central London...just politely say No, sorry I haven't any change on me they say thank you no problems and that's it.

I had a friend hassled once when she was waiting for me to pick her up and she gave it out of fear more than anything!

Sorry Castiel but this thread had nothing to do with religion so why would anybody start quoting the bible. Religion is a very personal thing and should be kept that way.

Why would anyone have a problem with someone posting a quote to illustrate his point.

Besides which given that almost all the local organisations who actually help the homeless and run foodbanks and such are Church groups I would say it is relevant anyway.

Either way attacking someone's faith when they were not being offensive or proselytising is pretty childish.

Yes I do give money to beggars. However if they're known crack addicts or William Hill junkies I tell them to **** off and shout abuse at them until they're too far to hear me any more.

Only you could make a tramp look like an ordinary person.

Theres a begging Busker nearby me, he used to play the Mouth Organ for Money (Dirty minds working overtime you sick Freaks), he's recently upgraded to a Squeeze Box (Accordian).

Usually good for a Quid or so :)

it's a lifestyle choice. this country provides everything you need to get you back on your feet and into a reasonable life. they choose not to do it.

so in answer to the question.

No.
