Vauxhall Astra GTC

Just been to Sainsburys for some quality eating materials (I love Pukka Pies) and outside, in a glass box, they had a fantastic looking car. A sleek sort of Coupe/hatchback thing.

Looked awesome!

Imagine my suprise when I realised it was infact... a Vauxhall Astra :eek:

Anyone else seen one of these? What did you think?

I've tried to google image search for a photo but there was nothing that resembled the car I saw, which is odd.

I am not 100% sure. I seen a white car today outside of sainsburys but it wasn't in a glass box. I didn't really look at it but I can just remember seeing it as I walked by. could have been a Vauxhall Astra but it never caught my eye so it probably isn't.

That does look very nice! Much better than the previous VXR.

Edit - 160bhp is the biggest engine choice? Really, cmon Vauxhall you've always been a bit more mental than that!

I've always thought new Vauxhalls look pretty good but then in a couple of years they just become really old hat.

Expect to see the 2.0 CDTi ripping it up the outside lane of your nearest motorway at 120mph in the near future.

If I may buck the motors trend, I have to say that I think the last few generations of the Astra are actually quite smart looking automobiles, despite their other shortcomings.

Presumably there will be a VXR? I notice there's a VXR exterior pack already though, can't wait for the scirocco boys to see these and grab a CDTi with the VXR kit. Brap brap brap!

They had one on display at the VXR action day I went to. The plaque proudly said that there will be a 2.0 engine, then when you read the engine listing you found out it was actually a dirty diesel!
