after what has been months looking for a replacement for the Cupra R we have struck gold. having pondered old rangerovers finance options on new fiestas spare taxis and all sorts of crap today was the day

we started today looking at Fabia vrS'

and went looking at a few cars tonight and bought an Alfa????????

its a 2003(03) Alfa Romeo 156 Turismo 20TS

rather nice has lots of options ticked inc bose soundsystem throughout, self levelling suspension and it drives rather nicely. 1 owner from new (a doctor from inverness going by the v5) drives perfectly runs fine and has a full Alfa history

expect a thread on shoddy alfa electrics next week sometime :)

oh and £1750 with a years mot and 6 months tax before i get asked

I dont really understand why you'd replace a Cupra R with that.

its green.

yes that ws the logic applied to the purchase from her side.

I know someone who had one, spent more time in the garage than on the road. In the end he had to buy a 2nd car to get around while the Alfa was getting fixed so he got shot of it. Hopefully his was just a bad example!

I thought she was after a 4x4 or am I getting mixed up?

Nope, she wanted a V8 Range Rover but then earlier today decided to get a small Skoda Fabia diesel. Then bought this.

Confused? Me too!

You make it sound like this is the first time a womans change of mind has confused you Fox :D

She will probably be fed up/bored with it soon, considering that she wanted a 4X4.

well todays thinking is run this for another year then chop it in for a alfa GT in 12-18 months

which probably means we'll get rid in 3 months for a focus

but it is a really nice car and i'm pleasantly surprised.

minty mint condition, i doubt the rear seats have ever been sat in judging by the condition of them and it has a wallet full of reciepts from alfa (inc cambelt change at 100k) fash and 4 matching tyres
