Just tried order 100mb virgin

But although there is a virgin cable into the house , apparently it can only do tv and id need to get broadband via adsl at up to 20 mb.

Anyone ever heard of this, i thought a cable feed was a cable feed.

was this via the online virgin checker, did you check other houses on your road ?

No , they say the cable feed into my building is only for tv. Not for broadband.

Not holding out much hope for virgin to even acknowledge my questions let alone respond.

Seems be* internet at up to 24/2.5 with static iP unlimited may be the mext best thing at £37 pm

Virgin 100MB for £47 would have been so much better though.

same here, if theres a cable run can't imagine why it only does tv :confused:

Hmm yeah could be, although I thought that legacy part of the network had been removed a couple of years ago.

Which still originally supported the cable modem.

Analogue was totally switched off up here about 4 years ago!

I had exactly the same for many years (TV only). They upgraded something on my road around 2-3 years ago though, and since then I've been able to get cable broadband (50meg)

I would phone Virgin as the information on their website may be out of date.

Exactly the same as my work place, TV and phone absolutely no problem, cable internet a no-go.

Milton Keynes is in a similar situation - can get analogue TV and phone, but no cable modem. Will be interesting to see what happens in a couple of years when the lease of the cabling infrastructure from what is now Openreach comes to an end.
