Is it only Honda that qualifies here?

If you want a chuckable car that you can take the redline often and generally be 'hard' on most of the time, where would your money go?

Not just being hard on the engine but the suspension components with fairly aggressive driving.

What is the best car for this job? :)

Renault Clio 172/182/197/200
Megane 225/230/250

Enough power for UK roads and a lot of fun on the limit. Built to be thrashed IMO.

DC2/EK9/EP3 etc. I am pretty sure you can hear them say "thank you" when you switch the engine off.

My 172 Cup took years of it being thrashed within an inch of its life and kept coming back for more :)

Golf GTI MK1/2
Mondeo Petrol 1800 and 2000cc blocks

mk3 golf 16v. i got mine on 144k miles, its now on 233k miles. was 1.5bhp behind the highest scoring 2.0 16v golf (standalone management etc etc) at a dyno day in april, i have thrashed that car more times than i could ever attempt to remember.

totally totally unburstable. it has poly bushes and coilovers, its a chuckable little go kart, which still does 32mpg combined easily.

bomb proof

It's got to be something like a Honda.

My s2000 was awesome fun on the track, I had great fun taking out an EP3 and the FN2 Type R's.

I actually quite liked the 1.7 VCT engine in my old Puma. Not massive amounts of power, but you could drive at 10/10ths and not be doing 150mph
