My incredibly clumsy and accident prone friend - the kind who wanders around the house naked and then realises the window cleaner is there - once told us how she was hoovering the stairs, tripped and slid down backwards, and then found herself lying at the bottom paralysed with fear as the hoover came bouncing down the stairs after her.
