I just watching this first i've seen it and the cops are

They've heard it all before
" And this is the norm is it, creeping in to dark places and taking pictures? "

Could the fact they that they are claiming to be from a photography group, all have camera's and tripods be photographers from a camera club?

Don't see anything wrong here.

People break into building, police investigate, arrest them, then they're released without charge once they can confirm what actually has happened.

They were trespassing. Regardless of what their memberships are, its still not allowed. They got caught, it happens.

True but it's what the cops were coming out with!

Basically they are lieing and in to rob the place, " It's a likely story "

The fact that they all have camera's and tripods :D

They were trespassing, so it's fair enough.

It was a pretty loose accusation to arrest them for burglary though, as they all had camera gear and were well spoken. As the Narrator made out, it's a derelict building, there isn't going to be anything to steal other than scrap metal and it was quite obvious that they weren't there to do that.

It's the City Police though, so they are going to investigate it to rule out that it's not terrorism or whatever.

I'll remember to pack my tripod and camera if I go to rob somewhere. Just taking some photos, 'honest guv :D

what a bunch of muppets

"the officers aren't happy with the stories they have been told"

yeah because the idea of people wanting to take photographs of derelict places is so totally unbelievable

How many burglars do you know go equipped with an slr and tripod... I'm normally very pro police but common lads use your head.

Cant prove it? Look at the pictures on the camera. True if its breaking and entering then yes but if its derelict and open then the police can go sod off. Me and my mate Tom got 6 riot cars called out to us on a motorway bridge saying we've raised the terrorist threat in that area and they couldn't understand why anyone would want to take pictures in the dark.. Had to show him the pictures and he still didn't understand.

For the vast amount of people, a group of lads breaking into a run down private property to take photos is difficult to understand...

why is it ?

They were just playing the hardmen for the camera.

What did they find down the station that they coulnd't have found out by talking to the lads, and asking to be shown the photos they were taking ?

Why is it? What people committing a crime to take pictures of an empty building?...

Silly me, of course the police should just take someones word at the scene of a crime... Taking someone back to the station to confirm all details is standard procedure if they have any concerns. They were lucky not to be charged with breaking and entering/tresspassing.

These criminals are a heck of a lot easier to catch than the sneaky ones. So the officers can tick their log and proudly write "Prevented burglary", "Arrest made" and "Good work, us" -- then they can dislocate their shoulder patting themselves on the back..

So the crime statistics goes up a bit, solved crime scoring also goes up a notch, their job is safe, and they get extra points at their reviews for good police work.

As long as some stupid bureaucrat put "targets" on these guys, they'll behave like that; they know PERFECTLY WELL these photographers are not doing anything much worth noticing, but they have targets to reach, so too bad.
