My 2 cents..

The Good:
Graphics look great
Gameplay had me glued to my desk
Ran great on my rig (i7 920 @ 4GHz SLI GTX470s)
Downloaded the beta from EA in 11 mins @~50mbps

The Bad:
Seems to be less destructibility
Beta map is Rush, but with no vehicles, so it seems more like COD
Slightly less immersive than BC2 (No parachute in, you just appear)
You'll need a quad core and at least a GTX470 to get decent performance and graphics
Broken meshes in some outside parts, so people fall through the map (reminds me of crysis in this respect)

The Ugly:
Had 2 BSODs
The web browser battle log front end
Initially I couldn't move at all, there is a raw mouse option on by default which gives horrible lag (You move upto a minute after you move the mouse) - This went when I reset the controls, switched off the raw mouse option, and unplugged my xbox360 controller.
You can't change any settings (graphics or controls) until you are in a round which is not noob friendly (being under fire when you haven't set up you controls.)

Overall:
Could be a great game, probably worth getting.

Is everyone else having a problem with importing friends? Obviously not a big problem as this is only a beta, but it seems to have let me import only 2 Origin friends out of the ones i added for this game.

Folks...give me a clue here please.

I can't seem to remap ANYTHING...I've read there are issue with binding certan mouse keys but when I try to bind something I get a message to press the key to bind or ESC to cancel. The only key that does anything as far as I can tell is ESC, and if I press that the only key that does anything again is ESC.

Help please!

ARGH! RAGE MODE!

So I left mine downloading overnight on my laptop, low-power, quiet, perfect for overnight downloads.

This morning tried copying over the 'Origin Games' folder (like you used to be able to be with the previous incarnations of what is now Origin) and nothing, nada, zip!

There doesn't seem to be a simple setup.exe, and I can't seem to find another way around it.

Anyone know how to fix/workaround, before I have to re-download the entire 3.9GB again?

same sorta issue as you downloaded the 3.9 system crashed and i though it had recovered but it messed up ended up gettin to 100% downloaded and it kept downloading, so have had to delete and start from scratch p****** off isn't the word since am only gettin 200 odd k a sec

Just had a go on Caspian Border, laggy as hell on that server but brings back a lot of what was/is Battlefield.

I downloaded it and copied the files over to another machine and it worked fine :/

Lack of mouse key bindings is annoying me ... tried x-mouse but it didn't seem to work in game.

It hasn't imported any of my Origin friends but I thought the import just wasn't working on the beta as it says they've all been imported.

As for performance it seems good for me. I've set everything to ultra at 1920x1200 and I'm running:
I5 @ stock until my RMA'd cooler arrives.
8gb ram
4870XT @ stock.

I've not checked frame rates but tbh I don't care as long as the game is smooth and playable.

If the graphics aren't actually the ultra settings then I'm not fussed either as I think it looks decent as it is.

Maybe I'm less demanding than you lot thought.

Not being able to alter the key binding is killing me though (literally). I tried to swap to my pistol last night when my main weapon ran out of ammo and ended up trying to club the enemy to death with a first aid kit.

My kdr is sitting about 0.38 so that must put me on a par with Raven.

I've changed my mind on this. I really really hated Alpha but they have changed something, to me it always felt like your chap on screen was completely detached from what you were doing. What was shown on screen and what I was actually doing didnt seem to be synced and thus is felt incredibly clunky and I hated it.

Thats all gone now and I'm really liking it.
