Had it not been for OCUK forum, what things would you have not otherwise Bought/Done?

Im thinking of buying a Safety Razor purely because of the in depth Shaving thread. There are also Trainers in the trainer thread I'm hunting for right now online. So without OCUK I wouldnt even be doing this.

I see many people buying certain chairs from Idea, similar desks to eachother, shopping at the same places etc.

So what things have other OCUK Members influenced for you?
 
Let's see, based upon recent threads, I've purchased...

  1. Samsung Galaxy S2 and its accessories.
  2. Idea Mardus.
  3. Milliner's tin foil.
  4. A summer dress.
  5. A basement's worth of guns & ammo (thanks Kwerk).
  6. An internet bride.
  7. Gold and silver.
  8. Marmite.
  9. Google Chrome.
  10. Amazon Kindle.

build my own pc
not to take my dog into a shop
to watch more shuttle launches
to see ravenxxx2 for what he really is and enjoy the fact he is great !

As for the OT, I cant think of anything I have done or bought that I wouldn't have anyway. Though the "Things we bought in x month" threads do frequently bring up some cool bits that I'd like to buy but don't have the spare money to warrant it.
 
I would probably not lost as weight as quickly or easily as I did without the advice I received here. I might not have taken the final jump from employment to academia for the same reasons.

as for things I have bought, outside the Touchpad I would have bought pretty much everything anyway, although the advice and ideas I gained from other members help in that decision.
 
Its also not just purchases, consider places you have visited or decisions you have made (relationship threads etc) :)

I run almost every expensive purchase by OCUK lol
 
Good thread, I often wonder how the forum has influenced me.

Firstly, I wouldn't have spent £2k on pc components over the years.
Wouldn't have spent piles of cash on steam sales I never would've known about
Wouldn't have a "study" built around my pc
Wouldn't have all my av kit networked up
would play xbox! (grateful for this one)
Would probably have a happier gf :p
 
A vape, and going to get a safety razor, only been here about a month but it's quite informative with products and a lot of people have feedback on everything which is good!
 
Based on the threads I have posted in motors, as soon as my house sells I shall be all over BMWs like Vanessa Feltz on a chocolate cake.

Other than that, nothing so far, although the safety razor very very appealing.
 
I had some very good graphic card advice a long while back and some equally good motherboard advice an even longer while back. If not for the forums I probably would have bought some dud gear, actually.

You never called, there were no flowers, the restaurant was lousy, I don't think you even love me anymore! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FEEL?!
