I gave my gf my 3G when I upgraded to the 4 and yeah, the 3G is now slow as hell. It's not just my perception being distorted with the speed of the 4, the 3G is visibly slower after iOS 4. I've now been given no choice but to get the 4S/5, my gf has had her eye on my 4 ever since she knew there might be a new one coming out :p

I have a 3G it's painful to use at times. I downloaded and installed army of darkness and it wasn't until I played it on the iPad some months later I realised I'd be playing at 2/3rds speed :D

Ping chat I can type my whole message out before the app catches up.

I'm hoping they do a 4s and a 5. A 4s will do me and a 5 for the mrs.

Apple badly need to do a budget phone, so much Market share are missing outnon where they could clean up.

That depends what you class as budget.
Ideally a £250-£280 phone which ends up free on most £20+ contracts would be ideal without devaluing the brand too much.
Keep it expensive enough to keep the £99 blackberry chavs away please ;)

Sounds awesome if you can just talk to it in your normal voice - I find if I ever use Voice Control (Which I never use :p) I have to speak in a robot voice and slowly or else it won't recognise :p

Hopefully the new technology pays off :)

I don't know really, Apple aren't really known for catering to the low end of various markets. The iPhone would lose some of its 'zing' if there were several iPhones. The 'budget' phone is the 3GS (which will become the 4S), that's as low as I think it will go.

Depend on what time they launch the phone, with the IPad 2 they launched them at 6pm (I think) I got to Bluewater store at 4.30pm ish and managed to get one.
 
Anyone got any suggestions for this new phone and a replacement contract. I feel O2 are stiffing me these days.
Dont want longer than a 12 month contract as well, anyone got a suggestion or let me know what your doing.

Anyone know if the 3 The One Plan - SIM Only allows tethering? I really want tethering this year.

And stop complaining all you 3G users - I'm currently using an HTC TyTn, running Windows Mobile 5, circa '07. Apps? What apps? :(

OK, so I do now have an iPad. Blessed relief! Though it's not a 3G one as I'll be tethering it.

If you're wondering, my 3GS fell out of my pocket on the way to the airport at the end of April. Gone, but not forgotten. I'm not keen on the form factor of the 4, so decided to wait in hope something else came along. Naturally, I expected that to happen in June.
 
Thank god cause im not getting locked in to a dirty 18 of 24 month contract! If it was up to me there would be a law for these companies where they must provide 12 month ones.

They have to be able to recoup the cost of the phone. Would you rather pay a higher monthly fee?
