Evening Gents,

You may remember I was asking about road legal quads, I found a 09 plate chinese 250cc thing locally very cheap and bought it.

Cost me £299 to insure it for 12 months (6 Points - 2 accidents last year :( one of which my fault) and I drove it for a few days to find myself completly underwhelmed....

So after a bit or reading online, I had decided that I wanted to buy a Yamaha Raptor 700 which is quick and good fun supposedly.

However they hold they're money really well and I really didn't fancy putting 3-4k into a quad which might get used once or twice a month.

So I found a Quadzilla 450RS on an 07 for sale locally, MOT just out and just over 1 months tax left - I managed to buy it for about a £1000 less than similar examples.

Went for an MOT yesterday and other than silly things like having 2 rear reflectors and front number plate it's needed a couple of track rod ends and rear brake pads.

Insurance has gone up to £395, but it's worth it because this thing is not in anyway boring :D

I've had a lot of very fast cars, but this little thing is just another type of fun.

I'm planning to use it off road, but it's still good fun on the road.

Anyone else here have such vehicles?

Sick of seeing Quads here, and the youths ride around in them at warp speed. Look to be good fun, but not my thing.

Some inbred down my road at home has one and likes to go down the road at what looks about 50 making an excessive amount of noise due to the exhaust on it. I'd probably have one if I could but would rather spend a bit more to get a bike if I was so inclined.

I just don't see the point with road legal quads.
All the bad points of a car (stuck in traffic, slow) and all the bad points of a bike (need protective gear, you get wet, dangerous) with none of the benefits of either.

Maybe I'm missing something.

They're pretty much the only vehicle I can see someone driving on the road and hope that they fall off/have an accident.
