Looks like a good excuse for Merc to charge £10,000 for the day that the system is set off during a rear end collision with a Micra (shades of the story of the bill for the GTR that had a front end collision that set-off the bonnet explosives).

Pretty certain there is something that has a sort of wire running around the seam of the windscreen, you pull a handle and the wire tears through it allowing you to easily remove the glass… I had it in my head that was the old 300SL but reading the anecdote above I'm not so sure
 
Aston Martins have swan wing doors, but they only rise 5°-10° I believe.

I thought that GTR bill story was found to be a pricing error on Nissans part
