Hi,

I am interested to hear your opinions on the design and layout of my company's website. Its a simple HTML jobby showing our smart meter products and data reading (automatic meter reading) services. There's a few additions to the products area coming soon. All done professionally by a nice website company, and reasonable price.

Feedback appreciated.

I really like the clean layout, looks professional and impressively corporate with loads of relevant information immediately to hand.

Two things have sprung to mind: you don't really have a logo, and should you be referring to yourself as 'fledgling'? I just wonder if customers would rather have the impression of experience and knowledge.

Fair point. I will rethink the blurb on the home page and come up with something more reassuring.

I like it, nice corporate design. Only thing I'd say is the footer menu is quite hard to read - small light grey text and white bg. Maybe a bit more contrast needed.

Pricing is just a phone call away. I actually had pricing on the previous version of the website but i didn't think it was necessary or ideal because we sell business to business only.

I may try adding a bit of further definition to bring out the text more.

Looking good.

Couple of minor points just to really tidy it up would be:

1) The hover effect on your top level menu items. The grey background doesn't have any padding on the left hand side to line it up with the left hand side of the grey dividing bars.

2) Your three boxes on the right hand side of the page (the login box, "need to know more" box and "call now").

They look similar but all have different functions. Top one is a link but has no hover effect. Second one looks identical to first but isn't a link and is in fact a title box. The 3rd one is a button which actually arranges a "call back". For example I actually clicked the "call now" button to double check there wasn't a page behind it that simply has information that allowed me to call you... now.

Also for boxes like these it makes sense try and use html text overlaying background images to aid searching on your page for both the user and search engines.
