This irritates me so much! I have had words many times but some people just do it without realising.

Especially in a quiet office environment with about a handful of people, they narrate everything they are doing, could be work related, could be getting a packet of crisps out the draw, could be anything. They just generally "think" out loud pretty much all the time

Is there anything you could do if you have already approached said person about the issue?

The fat girl who smells that I sit next to does this. Constantly reads out emails in a low mutter or talks through what she's doing. In a quiet office its nearly impossible to not notice it and can be really irritating. You can't really do anything about it as it's just part of who they are :(

I do this!

My colleagues are all university educated boring *****! I often remark on whatever story im reading in the mail or a bit of code ive just completed just for comical value.

I've never experienced this in the office but it seems to happen a lot in supermarkets by people shopping alone...

Peas...peas...where are the peas...

....hmm...they used to have one with tomato sauce....

- Keep it in your head!!

Narrating what about going online and actually typing it out.

Facebook status's aaargh

Atleast these are silent though and you don't have to listen to people go on about there screen not refreshing or talking to themselves about stuff they are doing tonight

"hmmm, think I should do xyz tonight, yehhh I think I will, but saying that I think XYZ is coming over, ill have to give them a ring and tell them not to bother"

When they are directing that conversation to themselves :p

I do that a lot not in the supermarket but when i'm busy and I keep forgetting to do something I'll stand up from my chair and mutter under my breath "go get the VAT form..Go get the VAT form" etc. "
reasons
A:so no-one stops me as I'll damn forget again.
B: so I dont forget to do it again.

Which reminds me Must do the VAT form. Must do the VAT form..Must do the VAT form
