Hi all,

Not really upto speed with these two laptops, so I am really after a bit of advice.

I have a budget of 1k, so it will be the basic MBP at 999 or the MBA at 849.

It will be for my daughter to use at uni. She will need to run windows as well as OSX.

I have read all the reviews and am still unable to make a decision either way, both seem to have pros and cons, just a bit worried about the non upgradable ram on the MBA if I am honest.
Cheers

id personally go for the pro , especially when the windows bootcamp partition is going to eat a huge chunk of the airs SSD. the cheap upgradeable ram and hard disk are a bonus when buying that base spec too

don't forget you can get student discount of around 14 percent on any of the macs

I'd go for the Pro if she's using boot camp, bit more versatile all round, especially at University, can watch DVD's on it, lots of storage for dual OS, upgradeability (RAM & HDD)

It'll be more than fast enough as well :)

Spent a while having a play about with both of them in Best Buy today.
Got home and ordred a MBP, with student discount ;)
Thanks for the replies, including the messages.

So impressed with the MBP I ordered for the daughter, popped into the Apple store in MK this morning and bought myself one.
