Advice Needed Re: Getting Digital Tape onto a PC

Really hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I have a Sony DCR-TRV60E from quite some time ago with quite a few tapes I want to get onto my PC. Now scooting around the internet it seems Windows 7 (which I use) is not supported - is there some adaptor where I can take direct output from the camera via the yellow,red and white leads from the camera straight into the PCs USB ports. If you could advise some free software that would help I would be kind of grateful also as I am flat broke at the moment!

Any help is greatly appreciated as I readily admit to hardly knowing how the camcorder works let alone getting the images onto the PC.

Capture card will do it, quality would depend on how much you spend on one, although you shouldn't need to spend much if it's only rgb,

i think i had one of those sonys, is that the DV tape one?

i used to use firewire, was far the quickest method.

Yes it is. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on W7 at all it was how I got it working on XP.
