Returning apples to supermarket

You'll get your money back but as others have said, what's the point? You'll spend more for time and fuel. Just suck up and eat them or throw them away... or feed them to a hungry horse. :D

Sod what people think, kick up a fuss.

At the end of the day it cost Asda / Walmart, probably 2p to put that pack together and at the end of it you are unhappy.

A friend of mine has on many occasion returned a Big Mac to the counter, after having eaten most of it, and complained about the 'build quality'.

I kid you not! They have always given him a new one. I refuse to go there with him anymore (which is not that difficult as I just refuse to go in there anywway.) :D

Hi all, I bought a pack of golden delicious the other day from asda, I've had two from the pack now and both of them were horrible - nothing delicious about them :(, I mean too sour, very thick skin on them & generally just not nice. Do you think it's a bit petty returning them & asking for a refund, at the end of the day I did pay for them (£1.50)so surely I'm entitled to return them but It does seem a bit petty, there's 4 left BTW.

You sound like a tight tramp.

He shouldn't have a leg to stand on with this, as build quality is looks, if it didn't look correct, and you wanted to complain, then you would do so without eating it.

If you had a Big Mac, but it tasted weird or undercooked, you could complain and get a replacement, as generally you wouldn't know until you tasted it.

I doubt McDonald's care anyway, its such a low cost item, just like Apples. Its slightly more stupid asking for refunds on apples though, as in this case, the OP has gone all the way home, where as someone at McDonald's, will more than likely still be at McDonald's to ask for the swap.

I'm a bit mystified at the idea that if supermarkets sell us crap we should just grin and bear it.

Its a £1.50 pack of apples? Why would he waste his time to drive there and get them replaced when it may cost more in fuel to get there.

Just dont buy them again.

Especially when they can't exactly sample them all. If they look fine but are tasteless, there's little you or Asda can do other than stop buying them in future.

It's different IMO to ie an Asda quiche being bland, as they have control over that.
