New build turns off after 1 second, constant reobooting

Right, will do.

Hopefully will not have to return this board, but if I do it is to OCUK and not Gigabyte, am I right? I only bought it 7 days ago.

It can be returned to us but gigabyte RMA yourself is actually quicker to be honest tking around a week.

If the pins are bent though then all I can say is grab a drink.. Nothing we or Gigabyte will be able to do if the CPU was installed by yourself :(

As I said before, everything had been working the night i'd set it up (except for the GPU which had not been connected yet), then bam, this problem. Before I got the new PSU I had tried connecting the graphics card, but no luck.

Will try again however.

The pins on the CPU? As I said, I had been running and in Windows, then the motherboard has seemingly failed. I don't think I made any mistakes in installing the CPU.

Did this has an OS installed?? If so did it go to sleep?

That could be the issue..

removal of cmos cell and a a nice 20min break without power connected will hopefully sort it.

I was running and in Windows for at least an hour. Temps were perfect and everything was running seemingly well. Then next day, after no changes, mobo seemingly failed.

Further to this suggestion - I have heard in the past that if you remove the cmos battery and set clear cmos jumper(if the board has one) to clear, and remove the processor for up to 24hrs this can re set the board to factory condition. I don't know if anybody else has heard this so it could be total rubbish, having said that it worked for me on a gigabyte board in the past. I am sure somebody will chime in here and confirm or otherwise.

Hope the op gets a result one way or another - bent pins on the cpu socket could also be a possibility - have rescued a board from that condition as well in the past - mind you I nearly went cross eyed doing it though - lol as you need lots of patience, a steady hand + a good magnifier on a stand.
