So whats the impression so far?

Speaking to friends i'm getting mixed reviews about it so far.

The game is incredible once you get used to a couple of its features. There are some flaws but the overall experience is amazing.

Best not to have any expectations about the game and you'll surely enjoy it. It need a little polishing here and there, though.

Speaking to friends i'm getting mixed reviews about it so far.

The Infantry stuff is great almost back to BF2 and away for this BC2 BS that drives me mental.

There are too many bugs to enjoy the Paris map - I spend half my time dancing with the quicksand floor.

The gfx will only get better, i doubt these are the final release textures, they have at least 1 more level to go up.

Squad system isnt working so its really just a massive TDM

I know one thing, the sound is bloody amazing, top marks for that.

yeah sound is impressive and it gives you an immersive environment

Side note: are there meant to be any large desert maps in the final release do we know?

My 6950 @ 880/1350 MHz with i5 750 @ 3.8 Ghz is barely playable for a fast paced shooter at Ultra settings, 2xAA with Medium post-processing. I get 35-50 fps at 1920x1080, Caspian Border doesn't seem to make much difference but I have tweaked a couple of settings yesterday and installed the 11.10 preview driver.

I put that down to the mini map, you can't see jack on it, in BF2 you got a nice full color map and when someone needed reviving you got a full color medical cross. In BF3 I don't know when my team mates need reviving half of the time unless they die at my feet.

Are you blind? It comes up infront of you on the screen. You can clearly see the small blot like icon above someone.

But yes the mini map and map are crap, as you can't even see the whole map when pressing M.

Probably the buggiest beta I've ever played, but it's still a lot of fun.

Not really sure why, but even though it has been underwhelming I can't stop playing it, I think it has to do with the sound stage and the gritty feel of the game.

Yes, feels sluggish.

And trust me, I'm one of these people who don't need 100+ fps to play FPS games.

I'll try turning off motion blur and see if it makes any difference.

To those having problems with the HUD at higher resolutions, have you played with the "Open Screen Adjust" ?

The game felt chuggy for me even at decent frames, what I had to do was tweak the settings to get my vram usage down to 850-900mb. I did thise by turning AA off and Shadows Low then forcing vsync, now it's nice and smooth majority of the time.

Stats are now tracked live, so you shouldnt lose any stats. you might lose the opportunity to get some like #1 in server, win rush, top squad etc. but you wont lose your kills or owt like that from what i understand.

I agree, even 60-70fps it feels lower than it says, just feels like you said, sluggish.

Yes, Origin is still in Beta.

Gameplay wise it feels okay - however the planes are terrible the helis even worse they need more bf2 like mechanics when flying. The flight celing is way to low for helis even jets.


The graphics? Wow while I imagine they CAN look okay....badcompany 2 I hate to say it was way more crisp then this.

The graphics don't feel crisp n sharp at all I dunno what to say rly I'm let down.

I know the ultra settings arnt exactly what there going to be in the final release but hw much different can thr game get. Right now graphicly I'm depressed. The planes vehickeles look great but I'm talking about objects cars buildings. Its far to crysis 2 to me n that game was terrible.
