MSI GeForce GTX 570 OC Twin FrozR III Power Edition - reviews?

its a cracking card, my mate is using one, its whisper quiet, its got awesome cooling and also runs a lot of games at max or near max (including bf3 beta)

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of getting on of these to replace my ATI 4890:

Has anyone got one? If so, how do you rate it?

Anything else worth looking at at that price range?

Cheers,

Jed.

Hey Jed :)

Have you considered the 6950? I only ask as I'm in a similar boat to you! I just can't decide between the two.

6950's seem cheaper on average (TF III for example) plus have 2GB VRAM... yet I'm keen to switch to Nvidia for a change as the games I play seem to suit them better, plus I'm interested to find if their drivers really are better as people say.

I'm about to switch back over to the red side again, but Nvidia's drivers and system tools are vastly, vastly superior to Catalyst, which I've found out in the short time I've spent with the GTX 560 :)

Owned one for a few days and am very impressed so far. Not OC'd it yet as I have an i5 system coming tomorrow but its a massive improvement over my gtx285

Hi I bought that card and installed it yesterday (replacing my 450gts)

Very impressed with the difference. It is very quiet compared to my old card and runs cooler according to msi afterburner.

I have an i3 processor o/c to 4.2ghz and on bf3 beta using the auto detect graphics settings (everything on high, couple of things on Ultra) and at 1080p resolution I am getting 50-55fps outdoors and in the metro tunnel 75-80.

It was quite an expensive purchase to me (had to buy a higher wattage psu too) but I have no regrets.

I am looking at getting another card to run them together in SLi in the new year. Got some advice on here about what wattage I would need and was told a good quality 750w (I picked up an Antec) I don't see why a 700w psu wouldn't run a single card, so turn that frown upside down :)

I'm surprised that you'd need a 750W PSU to run a single card? I thought that would be needed for an SLI rig? I'm running 650W Corsair PSU at the mo. I downloaded the BF3 public beta last night and it runs like treacle on my 4890 :/

I currently have a Coolermaster M620 PSU. Do you guys think this will be okay for this 570 TFIII? My CPU is running at 3.8GHz/1.268v.

Looking at it, my post above wasn't that clear. I picked up the 750w psu in anticipation of getting a second 570gtx early in the new year for SLi. You don't need 750w if you are just running a single card. Hence me saying to Lighters I don't see why you couldn't run a single 570gtx on a 700w psu.

Have a 470 Twin Frozr and the only thing I'll say about the cooler on them is that it's very very good, providing you have good case airflow. As it doesn't vent to the outside like the standard cooler, but rather back into the case, if you don't have good airflow to start with then the case interior will heat up fast.
