lol nowhere near it, how can you can compare 32 rush on a linear map to 64 conquest on a big map with vehicles, you can't.

Do I enjoy it as much? Yes

Does it make me feel similar when experiencing it? Yes

Comparable? Well then, yes.

It's sodding game, not a religion.

Lol ninja edit, too bad already reported. How about stop bating other members and respond to my post.

Lol, did it make you feel bad? I posted my honest opinions on the Beta and you immediately ridiculed them (and then did your own little ninja edit to make yourself look like less of a pompous tool).

Overall I think it looks great more so in the effects department. We need to see more maps but I was very impressed with Caspian with its great draw distance and sweet lighting effects.

Agreed. The high-contrast look of everything makes it look almost beyond realistic IMO, but it has a real Crysis 2 feel about it. As soon as I loaded Metro for the first time that's what came to my head, almost as if they're using the same engine.

Caspian's on a different level though, not necessarily better but different... the little rivers and lakes about just look awesome... the shine on the rocks made me stop and stare :D

Surely they are going to realise that they are not going to win any points by not opening some Caspian Border servers at some point. Someone said earlier taht they had heard that they are going to open some next week, has this been confirmed?

I thought that part of the reason for an open beta was to test for bugs/problems etc so if that is the case i don't see the point of not having any vehicles to test. Same with Commo rose, i would have thought the implemention of that would be one of the things that neede testing the most, and would be the most useful to get feedback for.

When i say testing i don't just mean technically, i mean in a general feedback way as well.

What do we think needs to be sorted for final release(apart from bugs obviously). For me the biggest thing i think needs to go is the scope glare(is that what it is, i never play recon it's just not my [lack of] style)

I'm pretty sure I did, I did a few restart to fiddle with the keybinds, but I'll check later. I wasn't enormously impressed by the gfx, so you may be right...

You might well have set ultra m8. I am just curious, my setup is not far from yours you see. Also what drivers were you using for your card m8?

This works both ways does it not? makes us want it even more for release :)

I seem to get very variable performance in my games, some are pretty much flawless (BC2, DIRT2, DIRT3) and some are terrible (GTA4, AC2, Crysis 1 and 2).

I hope it wasn't on Ultra actually as I was going to use BF3 as an excuse to upgrade!

Battlefield 3 looks fine in the current status but doesn't set any new standards. The Metro map shines with many sharp textures that remember of Crysis 2's HD texture pack but also sports shimmering water and some areas with a low poly-count and low-res textures. DICE promises an "Ultra" graphics mode for the final version that is currently not implemented in the Beta. As for now, the performance barely fits the quality: Geforce GTX 570 and HD 6970 users "enjoy" the game with ~30 Fps in Full-HD (1.920 x 1.080) - as long as they're using the latest drivers. Following Nvidia's BF3 driver Geforce 285.38, AMD released the Catalyst 10.10 preview driver. Both AMD and Nvidia promise huge "up to" fps gains – and indeed, the game runs smoother with these drivers. GTX 580 OC owners don't get into trouble, with framerates over 40 Fps in open areas and drops down to 20 in heavy firefights.

But some people might only experience Metro and whilst i would disagree with them, i can understand why they might feel underwhelmed by it. First impressions are very important. Cancelling preorders is madness, but it might put them in a negative frame of mind for the rest of the game and before you now it they are just moaning as a default state:p

btw, i am running a 6950 2gb and i haven't updated drivers at all and i would say i have very good performance. I think i will wait until full release to update my drivers for it.

So ive logged a fair few hours in this and I was also in the alpha. I think this might actually be the single most impressive sounding shooter ive ever played, the weapon sounds are incredible, just stunning.

The graphics are up there with the best but the sound design sets a new standard imho.

Seems the rumours of higher textures to come were true!

Higher res textures? The textures are pretty awesome as is, I'm more fussed about tesselation more than anything. The lighting's great, but I reckon some more DX11 DOF and real-time reflection effects and whatnot could be on the cards.

And yeah, the sound's incredible. This isn't something I'd usually notice (unusually) but it's serious enough to make me take notice. That guy we've all seen in the interviews is clearly a genius, they went out of their way to make it as good as it is, so fair play to em.
