Hey guys at the moment my specs are:
Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 840 "95W Edition" 3.20GHz

I was wondering if i upgraded to a X4 955 would I get better results. I researched if my mobo can have more than a 95w CPU and it can; Look here.

Or if i upgraded to a 970? Or should i look into the X6's?

What would be my best option? I'm looking to overclock but the 840 don't seen like it would overclock much, 3.4GHz?

It says N/A next to all the 125W CPUs. So thats a no, it cant have anything better apart from a 95w 1055T hex core.

Or older Phenoms which give you an unlocked multiplier and some L3 cache for the benefit of spending money.

i'd see how far you could clock it first, do you have a decent cooler on it ?

is there anything in particular your thinking of using that needs the extra processing speed ?

Oh yeah... I though the mobo could support all of them in the list... should have looked properally. Looks like my only choice to upgrade without getting a new mobo would be a Phenom II X6 1055T. Would i see a big difference?

Stock cooler and don't really know how to overclock. When i buy a aftermarket cooler i'll give it a go. And really for more game improvement for the future.

Infact the core speed of a 1055T is lower than your phenom, so the games that use 4 cores or less will actually run slower.
