Nexus Prime

im 100% selling my sg2 for this on release day...

I'm quite tempted, it looks like it'll be either an sgs2 with minor tweaks, or with a better screen, either way it's unlikely to be worse and it'll have stock android (and more specifically ICS) and that's going to be very very tempting :D

That's good for him! :p

Looking forward to the 11th, I'll no doubt have to get one of these (though I'm apprehensive about the screen). Especially if the new iPhone is a 4S and not the 5 that most people are hoping for.

After all the waiting it would be ridiculously if it wasn't an ip5, would be some what of a stupid move as a lot of people wouldn't want a very slight upgrade. Hope it is actual an ip5 just in-case the prime isn't as good as its said to be.

Indeed, it would be a massive mistake on Apple's part, but we'll see.

well i reckon i wont lose out to much, i paid under £300 with cash back for my Sg2, and i reckon i should get about that back, just top up the rest....

A. i want a stock google phone... sick of rooting and removing unwanted tosh
B. i'm a android fanboy :D

Not yet but I'm not too bothered. It will be good whatever the spec and my Nexus S could do with a change.

That's quite true.

I think nearly all Android users are praying the Nexus Prime comes out with some seriously killer specs so Google finally have a one size fits all Android device. The Nexus S wasn't quite good enough for that IMO.

You and me both (and probably a lot of other people too).

After owning a Desire and SGS2 (effectively different versions Google Nexus and a Google Prime) I am pretty sure that I will stick with Google stock phones in the future. All I seem to do is put CM7 on so that I can remove HTC and Samsung's completely idiotic bluetooth stacks in order to connect a Wii Remote and PS3 pad for emulators when working away for work.

That plus overclocking for the N64/PSOne emulation.

yeah i agree, i had the HTC desire at the time the Nexus S came out and spec wise was not worth swapping, even if the spec is the same i will swap this time!

Yeah, if the spec comes out as the rumours have said (basically anything above those of the SGS2) and there's not something critically awful about it, I can see myself pressing the buy button.

Although, I guess there's a chance the IP5 could come and blow it all away!? ;)

Hard to say at the moment, the iP5 will be more than good enough but it's not going to have industry leading specs I imagine. Then again, I'd rather have a 'retina' screen at a high(er) res than a SAMOLED personally.

That's assuming there is even an iP5, it's all a bit up in the air at the moment...

IP5, 4S, same thing really, the next one released.

I can't see if convincing me over this though, it would have to be something very special!

Well yes, but the iPhone 5 would be a brilliant looking (if the case designs/mock-ups are anything to go by) redesign of the entire phone, with a larger screen.

A 4S will just have the quicker processor, improved camera, 1080p and look exactly the same. It won't be converting anyone over, an iP5 probably would.

Ok I see what you mean, I was just meaning to me that whichever they go with makes little difference. I'm far more interested in the specs of the device, which is why I can't see myself going for it.

Edit - But either way, lets not drag this discussion into this thread, this ones for the new Nexus! :)
