Mine's been ready to update for awhile but hadn't bothered till today, I backed up everything using the inbuilt back up and restore only to find it wasn't there after the update (the program).

Thankfully I managed to get the program installed thanks to this guide:

I had a the same problem, very good link. Luckily I got all my stuff back! Interesting idea there SE!

Hmmm, the keypad backlight on my X10 mini pro has stopped working ...

Does anyone think I can get it replaced with the new updated version Xperia Mini Pro through either T Mobile or Sony Ericsson?

If anyone still has one of these, the bootloader has no been cracked  full instructions on XDA but i found the ones on Modaco better, mines done and it was pretty easy to.

Yup still got mine, i love it with the 2.3.3 update...Looked at the instructions for the bootloader....and what....confused to hell and beyond with that, also what exactly does this mean for us with the X10's.

Hopefully ports from other phones, IE sense, samsung, lg possibly even WP7.

it also boots quicker and because Kernals are direct there more stable.

Look at the intructions on modaco tbh its much like the rooting method with one added step.

Checked Modaco, seems easier, just not going to do it at the minute till something comes along that 100% needs it, as all this for a custom kernel i dont see the need for one yet, im getting 2d, 9 hours out of a full battery at present, with plenty of texting, browsing, and phone calls.

flash the azuzu kernel downgrade ftf with flashtool
disconnect usb cable, press power button until phone vibrates shortly and immidiatly connect the usb cable again
start the batch file for unlocking bootloader, cause it says press any button before it starts, it won't start unlocking until you press any button
now wait until flashtool recognizes your x10 (if flashtool doesn't do anything, check third post please! thx)
close flashtool and then press any button in the cmd window that the unlocking process starts (please close flashtool, instead the bl unlock cmd and flashtool are constantly killing and restarting adb!!)
after unlocking is finish you have to flash azuzu kernel upgrade
now power on phone to check if the phone is starting after the unlock (if you are using a custom kernel yet with the bypass method and get stuck in a bootloop enter xrecovery and clear dalvik-cache, then your phone should boot up again fine)
now place the wifi modules for dooms ck with rootexplorer
power off phone and flash dooms ck v04-fs with flashtool
power on phone again and if everything is right, read the line under that one
WOOOHOOO!!! Here you are with unlocked bootloader, custom kernel directly loaded AND without reflashing any rom, means you have kept your current installation

Also flashed the boot animation removal via xrec so only have the one logo screen.

Very nice!

Just got hold of one of these, rooted and xrecovery installed, just need to find a suitable rom now (and unlock it!)

You're kidding me, quads will be close to being out by then.

Hmm ok thanks anyway, i'll sit and see what else is out there, shame as i loved the quality feel of the arc, it just sits right in the hand.

ANyone still messing with this phone? Just wondering what new stable ROMs are available? I see mention of some ICS Roms on XDA. Anyone tried one?
