Through no one else's fault but my own I managed to scrape a parked car with my own, my car was worse off, I have a scrape from above the rear left wheel arch, all the way along most of my back left passenger door. :(

So roughly (hard without pictures?) how much would I be looking at to repair some paint damage on a Ford Focus?

I think it's just scuffed paint. But if it were down to the metal how much difference in cost could that make?

if it's just scuffed you could polish/buff it out, if it's down to the metal you ideally need to sand it down, apply a primer then paint ontop.

the former is obviously a lot cheaper :)

How much is a bottle of T-cut and some elbow grease these days? It can work wonders.
But if you are still left with damage after that you will need to ask a body shop, and usually they want to spray the whole panel rather than just the damaged area.

My guess would be 200-300 quid for 2 panels. I paid that for 3 panels over here but then again labour is cheaper.

Had a quote via email based on these pictures. £450 ouch!!!!! does that sound reasonable?

Seems about right to me for repainting 2 panels.
They might do it cheaper if you offer to take the panels off the car yourself (you would have to strip the door though).

I'd be more worried about cutting out the rear quarter than stripping a door!

£450 is about right for a main dealer or big commercial bodyshop. Doesn't mean the quality will be any better than a smaller place who will do it for half the price. There are so many people who are slap dash and don't really care the only way to pick a bodyshop is from solid personal reccomendations really.

I would be looking to pay 250-300 tops for that tbh, IMO £450 is to high. shop about dealership paint shops are not really all they are cracked up to be and usually indi paint shops are better.
