Never had one just go "pop!" before, it was a 40" samsung something or other 1080p widescreen job that we have had for nearly 4 years.
Anyhow, I really didnt fancy spending anything like proper money on a TV as I want to take the wife away next year for a really special holiday and get a new car as well, so new TV comes way down the list.

Ordered this from Amazon:
Panasonic TX-P42ST30B

I didnt think it was bad for £565, and from the reviews, other than it not being the best looking case in the world, the actual display is supposed to be very good, and it has the bonus of being 3D, which it supposedly does quite well even for an entry level set, no glasses though, which doesnt matter, as I can count the amount of 3D stuff I have for the PS3 on no hands.

Plus at £565, if its not the best TV in the world, I have not broke the bank to buy it!

Good purchase, just bought one myself and it's an excellent TV, very black blacks and a crystal clear picture. The case might not be the most elegant or have the thinnest bezel out there however it looks very smart indeed and unless your previous TV was less than a year or two old it will probably still be an improvement.

£565 is a good price however it can be had for £599 with a 5 year warranty elsewhere.

I just bought the 50 inch version yesterday! Looking forward to receiving it and breaking it in. It's a shame it doesn't come with any 3d glasses though, soI ordered some XPAND 103's so I can watch football in 3d :D.

Sorted, sister is coming back at the begining of December for 2 months, So I've emailed her the link and asked for 2 pairs and I'll pay her back when she comes over.
Bosh!

Glad to be of service! My mum lives over there so she gets used all the time, fortunately she is coming over in 9 days so I won't have to wait too long.
