Buying insurance early?

My insurance is up for renewal at the end of the month so I decided to start shopping around already. I've got the funds and I've found the best price - the question is do I buy it now or wait another 3 weeks? I'm not sure if prices change often.

You can buy it now, and schedule the start of the policy to be the day after your's finishes. Not sure when they'll take payment, but it'll be set at whatever you agree today.

Buy it now. I find quotes slowly increase in price albeit in small amounts

If you run quotes through compare the market etc the price is fixed for a period, did my quotes for my renewal in 11 days time before I bought the car. The price held even though running the same quote direct later, was higher.

Have already purchased even though my renewal isn't for 11 days as Flux said they couldn't beat it, even sent my no claims through early...

Most quotes are guaranteed for 60 days IIRC.

Many don't tend to charge until the start date anyway.

I got an online quote that I liked about 2 weeks previous, saved the ref, and then paid it the same day my old policy expired (after running my details again to see if the price changed).

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I didnt fancy the thought of the deposit comming out early. :confused:

I got a quote with DirectLine a few years ago, i'm sure it said somewhere that the quotes were valid for 30 days or such, around 2 weeks later, it had shot up £300... Safe to say, I didn't go with them.
