This is mainly to help people like me who are upgrading from a 3GS to a 4S and are lacking behind on new accessories.

Please post recommendations/reviews of docks, skins, cases, bumpers, etc etc

As the 4S is near identical to the iP4, maybe existing users of the iP4 can also shed some light...?

The outside dimensions are identical the the iPhone 4. Accessories will be the same

Edit: Possible issue.

I'm looking for a Carbon Fibre or Aluminium case at the moment, willing to pay upto £75 if anyone finds something nice :)

Please don't hot-link.

I will get a proper dock this time (never bothered for 3GS), although probably just the official Apple one.

However, I want a nice slip case/pouch. Requirements:
1) cover the phone fully (some of them leave corners exposed etc)
2) be easy to get the phone in/out
3) offer some protection from knocks/bumps/keys poking it
4) soft, scratch-free insides.

Cheers. Budget is whatever.

for the dock get the apple universal dock, just dont use any of the little moulds that come with it, the iphone will stand on it fine it doesnt need any support. (Used the same dock for 2G, 3G and 4 and no damage whatsoever to the connector)

I'd heard that the exterior is the same as the Verizon Iphone 4 not the 3g one we have so in some cases the volume/mute buttons wont line up quite right.

Apple have also released a Micro USB adapater so you can charge your iDevices with any micro usb cable using the adapter. Pretty good for £8

Yes. It uses the antenna layout of the CDMA iPhone 4 (Verizon) but has the microsim slot from the GSM (AT&T) one. Some case makers like Sena tell you which of their cases are for which phone, or both in the case of the slip ones.

Sena slip case, i use one for my ip4 and i love it.

EDIT: the sena slip case does leave the top part of the phone exposed so may not be what your after.

Is that a 4S vs a 4 pic? Cos it looks ever so slightly different..

I've just ordered a 4S, coming from a 4.. Wondering if my official Apple bumper case will fit.. Or if I should go looking for a specific 4S one..

Looking again at those pics the bottom one is a 4.. the audio mute is slightly higher, looking at my current official apple bumper, the whole is on the high end with a little on the spare to go, so wondering if they thought about this, during the bumper design, knowing that the next 4S, will have the mute button slightly lower.

Probably not.. Just chance most probably eh.

As has been said, the iPhone 4 comes in two flavours, the AT&T GSM version, which we use here in the UK, and the CDMA Verizon one, which came out early this year. The 4S has the antenna and subsequent button positioning of the latter, but the microsim slot of the former (as the CDMA one didn't use microsims if I recall correctly).

I may get one of those wood skin type things for the rear of the phone as well (with the Apple logo cut out), as they look pretty swish and add some texture/grip to the back.
