Hi i have built a new rig and ive been messing with the overclock for a month now and this is the first time i have ever done this with a pc.
I will list the hardware.
AMD Phenom II X4 975 Black Edition 3.6GHz Quad Core
Asus Crosshair IV Formula Socket AM3 Motherboard
CoolIT Vantage A.L.C hydro system
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (4x 2GB) DDR3 2000MHz CL10 Memory

Shaphire amd radeon 6970 2gb
coolermaster sniper case
xfx pro 850w power suply

I have managed to get it stable at 4.316ghz in aod stress tests and playing battlefield 3 beta.

my settings are.
Multi 18x
bus 239
ht link 2877
vcore 1.57v
max temp on cores is 62c and 55c overall.
Have i done well of can it be taken even further? And with a water cooling kit could i keep temps below 50c

your spot on the limit for that cooler i would think, and vcore of 1.572V is just over the recommended limit of 1.55v

not sure about temps below 50c even with a custom waterloop but a full on loop with that chip at say 4.4-4.5Ghz should be ok with temps mostly depending on flow and radiator size, they should span out around the 50-55c mark which is perfectly comfortable

it's not that crazy, to get my 955 to boot at 4.5Ghz it needed 1.6v just stable long enough to validate it with Cpu-z

I put in bios 1.56 but it shows 1.5725 in cpu-z
I carnt remember but i think when i put 1.55 it rebooted.
