How much water do boil when you boil the kettle?

I'm not poor I like to boil 3 kettles full of water I prevoiusly had in the freezer to use as much power as possible, then let all the water boil away until exactly the right ammount is left

Men = boil what they need.
Women = boil enough for a full pan of pasta for the whole family regardless of what you are making, be it a cup of tea or otherwise.

I have one of them HotPots where it only boils a cup at a time, mum hates it when shes doing gravy but mergh, it saves loads on bills so who cares? ;]

Question. Anyone got a kettle that doesn't make a racket when it's approaching boil? Being rumbled at first thing in the morning by my kettle isn't a pleasant way to start the day.

I've modded my kettle so it boils continuously and more tap water goes in once the level drops below 50%. This means I can have a cup of tea without waiting, at any time of the day.

since getting one of theses energy monitors from Eon, I only boil what I need. amazing how much electric a kettle actually uses. I am seriously thinking of buying a kettle to go on my gas stove.

fill it to the brim and boil it and ******** to everything.

I shouldn't though, the cost of energy has skyrocketed at my place!

Always filled, as I'll easily use 1.5 litres each time.

Although, regularly don't let it boil. Stopping it at 80°C or 90°C *yup... kettle has a thermometer mounted in it. Coffee obsessive ;)* Would love an Uberboiler... but €4000 is a touch too much for a fancy kettle and a set of scales combined.

Whatever.

Then I put whatever is left over in a thermos.

Maybe later I'll go back and raid the thermos for more hot water. Or someone else will.
