Nexus Prime

i had hoped for LED indicators, to be fair i have got used to not having them. but did use them on my BB all the time, red for email, green for txt and so on, so i was not reaching for my phone all the time.

I wasn't bothered until I used my BlackBerry for a while, it really is a great feature and not all that hard to implement, surely.

We have to remember it's a phone first and foremost, it should have things like a notification LED. Apple are guilty of this as well, I'm not sure why it's overlooked so often.

I think this is why Samsung aren't bothering in all honesty - they know all the iphone users are none the wiser so can get away with it (as its clearly those guys who were being primarily targetted by the SGS2).
It is really the only letdown of the phone though as far as im concerned

to be fair 'noled' is a pile of dog poo, and i did find led notifications handy when my phone is on my desk on silent, as txt i like to respond to asap and a email i will leave

When you miss a call or text notification the led would let you know at a glance without needing to remember to turn the screen on every 30 minutes.

Some more specs, "supposedly facts":

4.65" screen
Only 3 physical buttons and on screen home, back, menu like Honeycomb

This makes the device into a 4.3" device if true as the extra .3 holds the buttons. I can live with that, I was afraid it would turn into a 4.6 and home button :/

I'd rather a subtle glow LED setup than nothing but I can respect Samsungs decision to make the device "clean".

Erm, no? Am I not allowed to post here or something?

If not, too bad, because I am.

Course you are, but from my own personal perspective you do seem to make very sutle hints of apple being better overall in some of your posts giving people that impression in this part of the forum though i can appretiate that apple is your personal preference which i have no problem with

Im not baiting just how i see it :)

I've never missed a missed call or text either since going with the S2 and neither has my dad. I don't see what the fuss about it is now anyway, I had an LED on all my previous phones, this is the first without and I've never even put a 2nd thought into it.

Same here with the Nexus S. I didn't even put one thought into it.

I do miss the LED on the Desire since getting the S2.

Much prefer just glancing at the phone to see if i have a txt/missed call etc instead of having to pick up the phone and wake it up.

The desire was great. I had it flash pink for a missed call, orange for a missed text, and green for a missed notification (email, gtasks remonder, calendar reminder).

As someone who doesn't use their phone all day it's great to notice at a glance what I've missed.

This always happens though, if a useful feature is missing then people always seem to try and justify their purchase by playing it down.

Who has justified what down?

Like myself, quite a few others here genuinely have not put a 2nd thought into the missing LED at all.

An example for the LED use on my Desire was this, every time an email came in via Gmail (I get emails coming in every other minute pretty much) the LED would blink orange. Because it's blinking pretty much 24 hours a day I disregarded it completely and instead just woke the phone by pressing power.

It takes all but 1 second to press the power or home button to wake the phone and glance at the top to see if there's an unread message.
