Getting an appointment with your doctor rant!

My one is first come first served for a set number of appointments per day with the phones opening at 8.30. I've never failed to get an appointment that day if I call when they open.

Why should he tell you why he needs to go and see the Doctor?
Or do you have some other reason for asking that question?

Would you like to know why I've got to make an appointment?

Not the intimate details, but we could suggest going to A&E and making a fuss if what he had sounded bad.

Mine's pretty disgraceful. You can only get same day appointment if you phone up at 8.30am and claim that it's urgent, then they call you back to "assess" you to make sure you're telling the truth. I'll always dress my situation up so I can get seen same day. It's a lot of hassle just to get seen.

That's part of the problem. Everyone feels their problem needs to be seen straight away and is likely to be their number 1 priority, but there is only a finite amount of people who can be seen in a day. When everyone "dresses it up" how do they tell who REALLY needs to be seen that day?
