AMD Bulldozer Finally!

AMD's IGP dominate Intels.
Their CPU performance leaves a lot to be desired though (At present).
Llano is a desktop chip ; FM1 (Also comes in a laptop variant) Trinity is touted FM2 and uses piledriver cores (If that's still the case?)

Yes, but Trinity is only 2 module / 4 core?

AMD haven't specified any 4 module / 8 core Fusion CPUs that can really go head to head with SB.

whats IMC ??

Integrated memory controller.
If it's not upto the task, then it can't handle higher frequency memory.

I really couldn't tell you, nor would I want to speculate for fear of someone jumping in with outlandish claims :p

i want to buy the highest performance bulldozer coming out but i will need to start from scratch to make a computer good enough so i don't have to upgrade it for a couple of years.

any ideas on a decent graphics card?

For what they are aimed at Fusion walks over SB. General use for Joe Bloggs does not need an i7 2600k and a HD6990

The individual cores or modules are a lot slower than SB for sure. But SB is very, very quick!

I still want to hear about AMD's superior CPU's :p
The highest Zambezi will be the 8170, but that's not launching initially.

Doesn't the Phenom II IMC on "officially" support 1333mhz and down, with 1600mhz considered an "overclock"?

Indeed.
I couldn't get my Deneb to run 1600MHZ at all.
But my Thuban handled 1600MHZ fine.

1366 CPU's such as the i7 920 are only officially 1066MHZ :p

it should be able to run it on lower MHz ...

mobo has even an option to tune in memory but it didnt help...

Hmm..
I may have misunderstood what you were saying, I thought you were implying it never ran at 2000MHZ.

Except that I've not seen any desktop Llano builds in shops (Have a look at the purple shirt place etc), I've only seen 2 Llano laptops at purple shirts on site.

The best bulldozer coming out is the 8170...... I'm sure I've already said this. But the 8170 isn't coming out till next year.
And the best graphics card to put with it would be the 6990.

But I still want to hear about the superior AMD CPU's.
