Eating just THREE eggs a week 'increases chance of men getting prostate cancer'

The real headline should say
''men diagnosed with low-grade tumours appeared to be more likely to be killed by them if they had an egg-rich diet.''

I could also get cancer just by being alive so I don't think I'll be worrying myself unduly over this.

There are certain times when it makes sense not to indulge in "risky" behaviours but given the general benefits of eggs as a source of protein (amongst other things) I'm willing to live with the additional risk.

According to the Daily Mail most foods even those considered to be healthy by most people give you some life threatening disease.

There was a list on here a few months ago which showed all of the papers scaremongering to fill column space. Rubbish paper.

make mine 14 a week

dohhhhh

28 here so that means my prostate is the size of a basketball.

Lol @ people that regurgitate 'eggs affect your blood cholesterolzzzz!!11one!1'

I had a cholestrol test along with glucose at work 2 weeks ago. For cholesterol less than 5.0mmol/L is 'Good' and I scored 4.8. Likewise for Glucose (diabetes) normal is 4-8mmol/L and my score was 4.

I also exercise regularly and have above average fitness compared to about 90% of the nation so that probably helps too rather than stuffing eggs in sat on a sofa not moving all day.

Numerous research has shown a link between prostate cancer to high cholesterol and seeing how eggs are high in cholesterol why is it such rubbish?

Anything you eat gives you a increased chance of cancer...well thats according to the government....

Except that in the link provided by CmJared the Government (well the NHS to be strictly accurate) comes to the conclusion that it needs more investigation but you shouldn't be changing your diet on the basis of the high apparently risk. The conclusion says further that while the study size is relatively high at over 25,000 the actual amount of cases is low enough to reduce any correlation to being liable to be simply chance.
