Guys I bought a Roccat Kave + Xonar D2 and they don't work properly I know this I've tried them with diferents OS in the same computer but one new and the other my OS I've tried differents sounds card in the PCI of my MB and they don't work I mean it has a kind of CLICK and it lose the sound sometimes in differentes speakers so... I guess that is my MB etc...

I'm gonna buy a new computer I guess I'll change my 955 for an i7 is it a good Idea or no...

If you tell me yes... which kind of i7 i should buy around 250 Pounds, besides MB. 1155 or 1366 and model to do a NICE OC. with my noctua NH D14.

I have my 5870 and 650 Corsair and my Noctua NH D14 all of that it has to fit in the new COMPUTER, don't worry for the BOX is an ANTEC DF/85...

I'll do this to change my MB CPU and maybe MEM, or just change my ma790gpt but If I do this I prefer to change everything...

Guys thanks and I'll wait for your answer...

first off have you tried new drivers, mobo bios update ?

checked roccat / asus forums for similar issues.

go with the 1155 socket.

also, remove the competitor before the dons see it mate :).

I've check diferents speakers the same problem...

They are the new drivers I've tried XONAR DG, and XONAR D2 and they do the same...

Bios is the last ONE... no the last one because that is BETA... I don't want to put a BETA bios,,,

Competitor is the AC95 in the MB... is desactivated...

I'll check the forums now, but would you mind in the case that I had to change it which kind of CPU and MB in that PAGE I had to BUY... I'll do OC and everything that I've put on my last message...

THANKS FOR YOUR KIND NESS

Competitor link is still there, you need to remove it.

Have you tried taking the soundcard out and trying the onboard sound on the motherboard to rule out the headset?

Sorry I don't know what you mean with competitors link...

And yes I did it, and I've tried with different speakers and the same...

Soundcard MB which is AC97 it works but very POOR... VERY VERY POOR:

thanks for your help by the way

if you can't find a fix then i'd go for a am3/am3+ ASUS or gigabyte mobo if your system does everything you want it to.

if not go for the 2600K intel 1155 processor, Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 and 4/8gb of the cheapest 12800 memory (not with the high heat spreaders as it might have problems with your cooler.

the ac97 may be poor (quality wise) but does it have the same problems as when the sound card is in ?

and i meant remove the competitor link in your first post that links to another website before a DON does ;).

I'll buy it today here [Competitor link]

That's the competitor link. It's basically a shop that rivals OcUK and is against forum rules to post links to other online hardware shops.

Have you tried the soundcard in another system if possible to ensure it's not the soundcard messing up?

In london buff... may be I can do it... but I'll have to wait and that is the best option I guess...

google "Roccat Kave Xonar" there seem to be a few people having similar issues.

1155 is a newer socket than 1366.
