Switcheasy Nude is a nice design, but it doesn't offer any front protection. The front lip is recessed and doesn't protrude above screen edge level, meaning that the screen will impact with the floor if phone is dropped face down and it has no "table/face down" scratch protection. At the very minimum Nude should be paired with Pure+ front, although because Pure+ is just anti scratch layer, it is still a bit like trying to soften the impact with a sheet of printing paper.
I myself find
Switcheasy Vulcan relatively interesting offer. Not to thick, not too bulky, looks like it's got good protection, well priced while not the ugliest of the bunch. Looks like it would fit in Brodit "for skins" car cradles as well? Does anyone have anything good, bad to say about these?
Element Vapor Pro Black Ops has widely reported problems with blocking GPS and Wifi signals, especially in low signal areas. It looks the part, it feels the part, some people have problems, some claim they don't, but personally I think it's the £99 blindness - if you spend hundred quid on a case you really don't want to see it having any signal issues. In addition to that, I believe there is no active cradle on this earth at the moment that would fit this design. I'd be happy if someone could correct me.
I understand 4S antenna is redesigned slightly, so all designs involving strip of metals around antenna strip, like Vapor Pro, might actually acquire new teething problems. I'd say hold, wait for 4S to be launched and observe the manufacturers forums.
In the meantime - if you like that rugged design - the last "reasonable" Element case -
Element Formula 4 still gets a lot of applause, offers good protection front, sides and back, is easy to put on and remove, has no signal issues and costs about 35 quid.
