BBC said:
The US says it has broken up a major terror plot in which agents linked to Iran sought to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington.

Two men originally from Iran - one a naturalised US citizen - have been charged with counts of conspiracy, Attorney General Eric Holder said.

The plot was "conceived" in Iran by the Quds force, part of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, he added.

The state department has listed Iran as a "state sponsor" of terror since 1984.

Mr Holder described the plot as being "conceived, sponsored and directed by Iran", and said Tehran would be held accountable for it alleged involvement.

**** is going to get real I think  Surely the US will do something?

Saudi Arabia is the hub of Wahhabism which doesn't like everyone including other Muslims. Why does America continue to pump money into the country to fund the schools and mosques that teach and preach wahhabism? Why have they not bombed that hateful country into the ground?

You mean threatening a country that ordinarily had no ability to attack America, has had some blowback and caused a terrorist threat?

Anyone remember Iran photoshopping the pictures of it's rocket launches? I suspect any WMDs they have are filled with helium and tied to cardboard cutout Scud launchers.

Do you really need an answer to that?

Begins with O and ends in L. ;)

not as if the west doesn't carry out intelligence operations in Iran

Iran is probably already responsible for numerous deaths in Iraq both directly and indirectly.
