no Sehwag, Yuvraj or Tendulkar?

Tendulkar was ruled out the one-day series in September because of an injury. Maybe he’ll be selected later. Don’t know about the others and the Indian squad has only been selected for the first two games.

It was entertaining for me :p.

I think India will win this series, but it'll be interesting to see how this young side does abroad.

I'm happy with the squad, except I'd make two changes to it.
Ohja > Rahul Sharma
Nehra/Irfan Pathan > Aravind

Ohja is India's best young spinner alongside Ashwin and yet he's simply not being picked for the team. WTF ?!

Aravind has been having an AWFUL Champions League so far, we have several young bowlers in the squad already, so why not put one experienced bowler in? Nehra's been India's BEST ODI bowler in the last two years, and he's fully fit, but he's not in the squad

Has a team ever had as many comical injuries as India? They're adding up to be quite a big factor.

The young dudes have a lot of work to do because of them, will be interesting to see the outcome, starting Friday.

India were very unlucky with injuries, I would rather have played a full strength India team and the series ending up having a closer result rather than the non-contest it more or less panned out to be. I'm hoping it will be a lot closer this time round on the subcontinent pitches. Obviously Swann/Patel will be key bowling spin from both ends.

I have a work colleague who is from India. Needless to say he was pretty annoyed with the last series. He also went to the Chester-le-Street ODI, the best they probably played and it got rained off! Wasn't best pleased! :D

Everytime I think back to this summer, I am filled with horror. I have not yet recovered from the shock of what happened. Was supposed to be a good summer, to celebrate the first and last time I'd ever get to see this legendary batting lineup. And what happened? They ****ed up.

Just hope they can salvage some pride in this ODI series.

Hopefully Bairstow can continue his good work against Indian sides - 104* from 53 balls today including 8 sixes!

Bairstow looks he has the temperament of Morgan and incredibly clean striking ability.

Looking forward to seeing him play in the ODI's.

New ODI rules in force in this series:

No runners
New ball from each end (ie: each ball will only get 25 overs old)
Bowling and batting Powerplays must be taken between 16th and 40th overs

Wont that destroy the chance of getting reverse swing completely? meaning totals in sub continent will go up a ton, again :p

I think that the pitches in the subcontinent are batting friendly these days, not batting paradises anymore. They've come along a long way I think.

Want an example? Mumbai Indians V Trinidad and Tobago.

T&T got 98 all out. MI in reply got to the last ball and managed to win with 99/9. That scoreline doesn't really suggest a batting paradise does it? :p
