I have to say, the galvanic corrosion looks amazing under UV :D:p

We've seen how badly a competitor handled Martini's RMA.. hopefully OcUK will be considerably better :)

Old details^^^^

UPDATE

These are my EN plated GTX 570 blocks!!!

What do you guys say, corrosion?

How much biocide did you add.

We know that if you add to much Biocide it fades and ive have shown this in tests.

You only need 1 to 2 drops per ltr any more and you going to ask for trouble.

Clear and blue under UV.

Ofcourse, the rad may be made out of copper?

oh, and I did put a drop or two of biocide :) com[pletely forgot!
Nickel should be ok with copper, you know what I'm thinking?

I think liquid has come into contact with that screw in the middle of it, presumably that is steel or aluminium. Now that would cause corrosion.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But the screw is painted is it not?

And shouldn't that have corroded more, including my CPU block?

The head looks like it's bare metal from the photo?

Your CPU block will be electrically isolated so it won't be affected.

Edit: I take it there's not a rubber o-ring in that middle section? Just round the outside?

mind explaining in more detail please?

there is an o ring :)

Its not galvanic corrosion, it is crevice corrosion.

 Could you pleae explain aswell?

Thanks :)

Have you taken the block apart? I had the same dots on my old 5870 block, they simply wiped off. The missing nickel on the wavey bit on my block though was another story. EK have been very helpful and have accepted my rma and allowed me to pay the difference for an en nickel 6990 block.

No the sticker is only for the leak testing part of the warranty, your still covered for manufacturing defects.

ah :)

honestly, I really don't want to! i'm 99% certain that the metal has come off as i can see green when under UV :(

It really looks like corrosion. I've started thread in CS section so hopefully OcUK will be nice enough to give me a refund :)
