**British Armed Forces Discussion Thread**

Currently waiting for my Psychometric test date. A little bit nervous as I got a few wrong in the practice booklet.

My knee is crap at the moment too, hurts even when I walk. I hope they will let me delay the Medical/PJFT if it comes to it.

Keep us informed. Best of luck.

As an aditional question for the TA, I know the local unit I wnt to join 131 Independent Commando Squadron Royal Engineers as I did engineering (GNVQ Adv) at college and computer systems at Uni.
I know the engineering covers a mulitude of roles, within a TA centre do you get a choice as to what role you train for, or is it we need X so learn to do this?

Keeping a low profile in regards this. Fitness is increasing steadily, working on things like posture as well etc.

Mentally I've started reading around the whole topic a lot more, putting myself forward for leading assignments, being more vocal etc.

Going to apply for officer next year, hopefully in the best of form.

p.s speaking of which (not influenced by the feminist thread at all :p), why are women still not allowed on the front lines or in certain other roles?

No? It's all commando support bar the rifles down here in plym. But that's not surprisingly really.
Any specific reason why?
Unless its to do with your sig? I guess you might be a para!

Don't worry about the Psych test, as long as you get over half of them right you'll be fine. Officers need about 70%, but again, shouldn't be too hard. There are plenty of test papers on the internets, just remember to time yourself.

Did you take the RM route?

Cheers Ghosteh, its 131 Squadron Royal Egineers who I'm off to talk to on Tuesday.
Only thing I was worrying/thinking about is the water filled culvert. I'm not a fan a small spaces at times.

I'm sure if you've got any questions about the AACC, Castiel could probably help answer as be was a proper bootneck (Marine).
As for the Army side of what you're looking at, there are plenty of Army guys around here too.
