First up, if mods feel this should be in the "official" F4 thread, then sorry, my bad for making a separate one, just wanted to try and make sure it got some attention.

So, as the title suggests - do you use the full racing line, braking only, or none at all?

Since original Forza I've used the braking only line, but with F4 decided I should "man up" and try to learn braking points myself. It's damn hard though, so I'm wondering what general opinion on using the line is, amongst OcUKers...

Thanks :)

Surely the point of a racing game is to turn off all of the assists? It's like playing a shooting game with auto aiming

I sometimes use braking line, though after you've had a few laps round a track you tend to remeber the line

Braking line. Everything else off until I get to the R3 cars where I need some driver aids to keep the car on the track and pointing in the right direction.

I'm pretty much the same. I use the braking line, because if I don't then I tend to go into the tires at about 300mph every time. I don't use ABS, though I notice a lot of the more serious players do. I tend to get by without it by going in lighter on the brakes or by pumping the trigger myself. And yeah - once I hit R2, or a seriously slidey RWD R3, I whack traction control on as well.

For me its breaking line used as a rough guide and ABS on. Braking has always been something I struggle to get a feel for in racing games, maybe one day....

I must say I've found braking a lot easier since starting to use the cockpit view rather than the chase cam. I guess it helps being able to see the front of the car when you're about to go into the back of someone!

I've improved since switching from bonnet camera to cockpit, still tend to snatch at the brakes and lock up a lot.

Breaking line only, until I've learnt the tracks and then i switch it off. All other assists off, sim mode on and bonnet cam for me, I used to use Bumper cam, but recently switched because i found i kept nudging the car in front accidentally.

Breaking line on until I get used to the tracks. If I know the tracks I'll keep it off, though if I'm struggling with a race I will turn it off.

Generally off though.
