570 sli vs 580?????

why cant i find anything relating to this? i want to find out what would be better 2 x gtx 570 1.2gb in sli or 1 gtx 580 3gb? anyone shed any light on this for me please

Looking at this, http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/308?vs=305. Looks as if it's just double performance so double the 570 frame rates to see then compare them to that - just a rough guide but personally there's no question about it get two 570's £500 instead of two 580's £760 with maybe 5 fps difference.

That wasn't the question.

OP, the SLI'd GTX 570's will give higher average frame rates than one GTX 580 but you may suffer from micro stuttering and other complications with SLI.

Depending on the resolution you game at, the games you play, the settings you use etc. the 3GB of VRAM on the GTX 580 may offer more benefit than the effective 1.25GB of the SLI'd GTX 570's.

i already have 1 570 1.2gb, just wondering weather or not to go sli or get 1 580, game at 1080, mainly goin to be playin bf3 when its out arma 3 when it come out skyrim and the like

Second 570 will be a far bigger boost, never had a problem with "only" having 1280MB VRAM on my 470 SLI setup unless I go above 1920x resolution.

i know i shouldn't worry about it because it wasnt optimised and stuff but in the bf3 beta it was using all of my vram that why i was thinking more would be better
