corsair dominator will no longer do stock speeds

Bit of a strange problem here. I've been running my corsair dominator 1066 5-5-5-15 ram @ 950mhz for ages now (as the divider availability on my mobo is a bit rubbish - IP35-E) and following an upgrade in CPU i've not even been able to achieve that, i've had to drop it down to 750 to even get it stable. What could be causing this?

yes, my FSB is running at 380 so my available dividers allow the following RAM speeds:

750, 912 (or there abouts), 950, 1140 (or there abouts), plus others which are below and above these.

wouldn't have thought so, 2.1v is within its spec, if you'd used 2.2/2.3v then fair enough.

i always start with default memory voltages of 1.8v ish unless specifically stated to run as something else, then just tag a bit more on if needed.

it's specifically stated to run @ 2.1v so i think i'm ok with that then... hmm... i've got 2 stick of 2gb so i guess i'll try one stick and then the other to see if one of them has failed.

You don't think it could be anything to do with the memory controller or something like?

try the different sticks in different memory slots to see how it performs.

might also be worth running memtest over it all.

i've tried putting slot 1's stick in slot 3 and slot 3's stick in slot 1, but that didn't help. do you mean putting them in 2 and 4?

yeah, just to see if it gives you any issues.

ok, the mobo manual says this shouldn't be a problem so will give this a go over the weekend, as well as trying it with just one stick in - in the event the RAM itself's at fault i can't imagine BOTH sticks will be faulty.

If it is the RAM what is Corsairs returns policy like? I'm the 2nd owner, but do they check up on that sort of thing?

i've had a look this morning, i've swapped the ram sticks to different slots and just used a single stick of each and no joy. These are the settings i'm using:

I've tweaked the FSB and multiplier to enable me to get 3.4ghz AND a standard RAM speed. The computer runs fine if i do this with the ram at a much lower speed, but if i set the ram speed as above then i just get the long post beeps. It doesn't matter whether i set the ram timings myself or use SPD either. Have i got something wrong here?

The ram works fine in a mates board, so it looks like its my board. Doh! Could something be overheating? Is my overvolting the mch causing problems?

i've just got in and messed with a couple of other things. If i remove the CPU overclock it boots fine @ 1066, so it must be the board struggling to run at such speeds. Any ideas about what i can do?
