iPhone 4S - the deal you got

Pleased with Three so far.

My signal at home isnt as good as O2 (expected as the O2 mast is almost literally outside my house) but even on 3/5 bars i get 5mbs 150ms download which is better than my BT broadband connection.

Now just to get my PAC code form 02..only been in the queue for 90 mins lol, they must be busy!

Just got off the phone to Tesco having got my text from them finally. They have reserved me a 64GB Black iPhone 4S, But dissapointingly they are offering absolutely no discount for upgrading customers.

I said to the guy on the phone "so you're calling it an upgrade, but it's actually just me taking out a new contract?"

His response was "yes that's another way of looking at it sir" lol

He did also say that they are ONLY selling iPhone 4S's to existing customers so that's what I'm getting by being an existing customer.

I'm really not too pleased that they aren't discounting it at all after I've spent all this money with them, that alone makes me want to move on. But at the same time I REALLY don't want to be tied into more than a 12 month contract.

Is anywhere else doing 12 months? if so are they competetive with Tesco?

/edit the Tesco deal is £370 upfront for the 64GB 4S, £35/month 750mins 5000 texts 1GB data with no tethering.

Cheers,

G

Not worth it imo. Three do a much better deal, but the problem that everyone says about Three is their reception sucks.

I've found it to be great on Three.

At home I get 1-2 bars of 3G and my wife gets 3 of Edge (she's on Tesco).

Similar situation at my parents house, but the really challenge will be my workplace where I used to get 2 bars of GPRS. ANYTHING that can beat that is better.

Costs me £5 less per month for more allowance, so I'm happy :)

How bizarre
I just popped in to O2 to see about an early upgrade and they won't let me pay out my remaining contract. I can upgrade from 11/11 but they won't let me pay out my last month.
Anyone know if 3 stores have them in stock or is it online only?

A few people said that they have gone into a 3 shop and bought them so yes.

The 3 contracts are such good value for money, but 24 months.. Would rather not have a contract for that long really, 18 months would be ok, 24 is just silly.

Hmmm

I'm thinking for changing my plan from a £21 a month one to £56

Original plan was buy the phone out right on my £21 deal with O2! = £951
Now I'm thinking £56 a month O2 with £21 outright! = £882

Both 12 month contracts!! Seems no brainer to me!

Just got an upgrade from three with IPhone 4S 32 GB Black from Blackberry 9700

£35/month on One plan
and £159 upfront instead of £189 so that's a £30 upgrade bunos/discount
24 months total including upfront, £999 but since you can upgrade again after 20 months then that settle down to about £859.

What do you think guys?

Seems good, how come you can upgrade though after 20 months?

Not getting a 4S, as ive got 10 months contract left on my 4.

But as a heads up for those getting the one plan on 3 mobile online, you can get £115 cashback via quidco - sort of irons out the handset cost :)

Thats the term they offer on the 24 month contract. You can upgrade after 20 months as I basically refer to them the difference between theirs and the vodafone and O2 package which both has 12 & 18 month contracts.:D

Oh right, but it's not a 'default' thing right and something they agreed for your contract?

I'm very tempted to buy one unlocked (or discounted upgrade from O2) and then switch to Giff Gaff as they use the O2 network anyway and come with unlimited data on all but 1 of their packages!

My house mate pre-ordered the 4S but dude to the heavy traffic, the Apple store kept crashing out. 3 hours later he finally ended up getting confirmation that he had purchased one. Then an hour later, discovered he had actually ordered 3! At £699 a pop for the 64GB model I bet he was thankful his credit card has a £3k limit.

I sold my iPhone 4 for £300

Then got the 32GB for £269, and signed up for a 24 month contract at £30 per month. Which considering I've been on o2 for 12 years now and don't really plan on leaving them, and was paying £26 before, £4 extra a month and a free handset was a great deal for me
