Pin wrong 3 times, blocked card

Ok so I was drunk last night and managed to put my pin code wrong 3 times trying to get cash out at the ATM machine.

It blocked my card.

Is my card permanently blocked, or will it start working again?

Do I have to contact my Bank to unblock the card?

Doubt it's permanently blocked. Most likely a case of ringing the bank up, answering some security questions and getting it unblocked again.

Some banks allow you to unlock it from a cashpoint I've done it before with Natwest just put it in one of their ATMs and select the unblock option.

Generally you can only do this if it was blocked in a shop. If it was blocked in an ATM it'll be a call to the bank.

Ring bank.

They will verify all your details, ask some security questions, then either unblock it on the spot or send you out a new pin, if you can't remember what it is.

I managed to do this in exactly the same circumstances about 3 years ago. The ATM ate my card though

I have 4 different cards with all different pins, sometimes I confused and do this, you don't have to be that drunk.
