quick question regarding FPS on Metro2033

I thought I'd get more people reading this if I made a quick thread.

Got Metro2033 installed. All settings set to max with DX11 enabled. FPS on fraps is, in action 21-23fps. Walking around about 32....

Is that low cos I think it is?

30 fps is about playable, but normally anything lower than that is noticeable.

yeah its annoying when there's action...should note Im playing at 1080p

Yeah I would have thought you would want more than that as a average framerate or when you get in high action parts of the game it will probably stutter and have around 15fps? I try keep my average at least around 40fps which is getting hard with my ageing system.

I got this from steam the other day, but Ive only played around 15mins and I got around 25+ fps reported too. Not sure what graphics settings I've got as I haven't touched them yet. May have some time later for a tinker.

Edit: the fremerates haven't been overly noticeable though

it is a very gfx intensive game thought i was gettin between 20-70 depending on what area/combat and just walking around

I struggled big time trying to play Metro with my crossfired 5850's. Think I heard it was maybe optimised for Nvidia cards??

It's a demanding game, one of thee benchmarks for gaming performance. I'd say you might be looking at a decent crossfire or sli set-up to get the frame rates up to a satisfactory standard for you.

Have everything on max but disable DOF in dx11, FPS will go very nice then.

Metro is near 580 sli territory with all DX11 bells and whistles no?

This, turn DoF off, not only does it look horrible it absolutely hammers performance.

Thanks I might try this also. I stopped playing metro because my system couldn't seem to handle it.
