Any owners on here? :)

I can't seem to find any reviews online, but it seems to be a nice screen and a decent price too.

Anyone have any pictures or feedback on this screen?

Thanks.

What are you wanting to use it for?

Just for a mixture of everything really. Photo work (Lightroom & Photoshop), web browsing and gaming. I don't watch that many films on the PC, as I stream them to the PS3/TV. :)

I currently have a 24" Samsung SM-2493HM which I've had for 3 years now.

I haven't used the Iiyama myself but I am very familiar with the characteristics that all VA panel monitors share - particularly the very slow pixel transitions between certain colours. I have recommended and have been quite fond of some smaller VA panel monitors for their price to performance ratio and I do believe they make excellent general purpose monitors. They are very weak gaming monitors though, it is really difficult to hide that and if you're used to a TN panel monitor you will undoubtedly notice this. The high-contrast transitions in particular (mainly during dark scenes but elsewhere too) leave a smearing trail that other panel types simply don't suffer from. It is possible to get used to this to some extent but it is certainly something to be aware of. Other than that the contrast and colour reproduction advantages over similarly priced TN panel monitors can bring a lot to general purpose use. The screen surface on VA panel monitors (I doubt the Iiyama is an exception) tends to be a light haze as well which is quite a good compromise; providing a little extra image vibrancy and clarity whilst also doing a good job at reducing glare and reflections.

So I suppose it would depend on how important the gaming aspect is and how sensitive you would be to a noticeably lower responsiveness than your current monitor. I haven't used a 27" VA panel monitor as it happens but I imagine the large size would exacerbate these problems.

Ahhh very interesting, thanks for posting that. I think I will stick with TN then as I do play FPS games and I think that any blurring/ghosting would get on my nerves. :) I would agree that with the larger screen, the ghosting would most likely be more noticeable.

Thanks again.

I'm also keeping my eye on this one, primarily as a video watching screen mounted above my desk, due to the 1080p res and larger than normal size.

The main advantage I'm hoping for, review dependant, is much deeper blacks than on IPS and no IPS glow (♪ where oh where, have the A-TW polarizers gone? ♫)

There's still the subtle red glow on diagonal angles on MVA, but it's much less pronounced. And black crush which I never notice in practice, only test images.

Also here (Switzerland) it seems a fair chunk cheaper than the Samsung S27A650D or BenQ EW2730V - which may well use the same panel.

Cool neilo67. What are your impressions about the black depth and viewing angles. Is there much wash out - lightening of an image's colours - from extreme angles? How do blacks look from diagonals?

Cheers.

was looking at this do U think it will be any good for games?? I have teh dgm va monitor that I bought here years ago, do you think they will preform teh same?
