I know Osram Night Breakers have reliability issues. Searching in the forums Phillips Extreme seem to be a very good shout. Should I also be considering the Bosch or Halfords equivalents? Does anyone have experiences with Bosch or Halfords bulbs?

Depends on the bulb fitment and model. I've only ever used Osram over the years (family business used to be a distributor) and more recently Phillips. Both are decent quality brands. Certain models were less reliable than others.

Have never tried the Bosch or halfords brands. Always found buying online to be the cheapest.

I've always used Osram, they don't last long though. Thankfully I have Xenons now and they rarely need changed.

Osram Night Breaker Plus.
Better than the Night Breakers and without them blowing in such a stupidly short timeframe.

I did have Philips X-Treme Power untill one went out and ive fitted Osram Night Breaker Plus now,
id say go for the Osram.

Usually go for philips but there customer service is not the best claimed they sent me a replacement bulb never did show up and was sent twice although my postie might have a nice set of bulbs now :(

I bought two philips high visibility ones, blue vision i think they were.

Both died within a year. Not happy!

I've got Osram Night Breaker Plus in mine. Allegedly they're meant to last longer than the original Night Breakers.

That said, the Night Breakers in my old car never died, and these Night Breaker Pluses won't be getting much use as I've got Factory Xenon's for the low beam anyways.

Halfords, I've had my current ones in for over a year bow with no problems. Gona try the bew extreme brilliance ones (black packets) through the week.

Halfords, don't see the point in spending more given how little time I spend driving my car on roads without street lamps at night.

I use the top of the range halfords ones, extreme brilliance or something like that. They're on aa permanent bogof I think, makes them a reasonable enough price. They give out enough light for my tastes.

I use halfords which turn on and off, give out reasonable light and blow every 6-12 months.

I appreciate the consistency

Haha I've used the extra bright Halfords bulbs for the last 2 years & they are very consistent too.. for about 12 mths.

Once one goes its just a few weeks before the other goes too. Considered getting some Bosch one but they aren't on BOGOF so I just bought another set of the Halfords ones, the other bulb is due to go any day now.
