I use megabus a fair bit to get around scotland, but sitting in the same seat all the way down to London wasnt very appealing. I noticed now though that they are introducing new sleeper coaches for overnight travel :http://uk.megabus.com/megabus-sleeper.aspx

Was thinking about visiting some mates in london in december, can get tickets £12 each way plus it arrives early morning right in the centre leaving the whole day free.

Last time I went down from glasgow to stanstead, the hour long coach into victoria was around £12 - if not more!

Obviously a new service so not expecting many experiences from people, but just wondering if anyone has heard anything on these?

Can't imagine you getting much sleep. I travelled on a Sleeper train from Washington DC to Jacksonville Florida last week, with the theory that I'd get a good nights sleep and wake up in my destination. In practice I slept for about 2 hours tops - it was simply too noisy and too bumpy for a proper sleep. I can't see how a coach would be anything but worse.

I've seen pictures on the inside, basically bunk beds ideas with a curatin. Think the japanese hotel pods but less sofisticated in both technology and style wise. Don't you also get a seat?
I know I would probally have trouble sleeping and lying down for how ever many hours would just kill me by being uncomfortable, hence the thought that you also get a seat.

I took a sleeper train in ukraine, I imagine the railways and train cars are much worse than america but managed to get a decent amount of sleep - of course a little vodka might of helped...

But yes, coaches arent the quietist, especially near the back.

Yep, you get a seat as well.

Sleeping near someone too cheap to afford a car or a hotel? I might end up getting stabbed or have to share needles with a junkie.

Ive been twice,

Its VERY NICE

there 24 people to a coach -

Big bunks nice beds nice seat you get one bed one seat.

Free wifi onboard food.

They give you fresh blankets n pillows and water, onboar... CLEAN toilet yes clean.

I usualy fly to glasgow ive gone this way the last 2 times its great expencive but great.

Firstly, modern coaches are much quieter than trains. Secondly, just take earplugs if you're worried. (I can supply some excellent ones if you're interested).

Went on several sleeper buses in South America where admittidely they are more thought out as even the "short" journeys are about 12hrs. Not sure what the interior is like but the most important thing to do is either have blinders or make sure all the curtains are shut. Once you do it a few times you eventually work out how best to fall asleep etc..

Planes / Ferrys / Trains / Helicopters / Offshore, all bar impossible to sleep correctly on.

I see the coach as a recipe for throwing up on.

If there's a bed, I can't see how so many people would fail to get to sleep. I can sleep anywhere, it's a great trait!

In ~ten days, I'll be doing a trip to Norway, where I'll take a sleeper train from Oslo to Bergen, and back again... I can't imagine I'll have much difficulty sleeping, tbh.

i bet theres some couples who wont get much sleep and a few fappers :D

Buy a Therm-a-Rest
if you are just sitting all night get a window seat and double fold if against the glass whilst sitting on it.
it makes a nice pillow

Having spent plenty of time on sleeper trains on the continent and the regular megabus coaches I hope I get onboard one of these soon, would be fantastic.
